1. Introduction

Welcome to Avocado. We respect your privacy and are deeply committed to protecting your personal data. Because Avocado is designed as a local macOS application, we take pride in processing practically everything directly on your machine.

2. Data We Collect (And What We Don't)

Your content stays local: All text, scripts, and voice inputs processed by Avocado remain strictly on your macOS device. We do not upload, read, or distribute your presentation content. Ever.

In-app anonymous usage analytics: To understand which features are most useful and improve the app, Avocado sends lightweight anonymous usage events to PostHog (e.g. "prompter session started", "script enhancement used"). These events contain no personal information, no script content, and no voice data. Each installation is identified by a random UUID generated on first launch — it is not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID in any way. You can opt out at any time in Settings → About → Privacy.

Website analytics: Like most websites, we use basic cookie-less analytics (via PostHog) to understand how visitors interact with avocadonotch.com — page views, clicks on download, and purchase funnel progression.

Payment processing: If you purchase a license, only what is necessary to process the payment and issue a license is collected via our trusted merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy. They handle your billing info — we never see or store your raw credit card information.

3. Your Opt-Out Right

In-app analytics are enabled by default because they help us prioritise improvements. You can disable them at any time without any loss of functionality by going to Settings → About → Privacy and toggling off "Share Anonymous Usage Data". This setting is respected immediately and persisted across launches.

4. Cookies

The Avocado website employs minimal essential cookies. We do not sell ad space or inject invasive cross-site tracking cookies. If you purchase a license, Lemon Squeezy may set cookies required for authenticating the secure checkout session.

5. Third-Party Services

  • Lemon Squeezy: Used for secure payment processing and software license generation.
  • PostHog: Used for lightweight, privacy-first anonymous analytics — both on the website and within the app (opt-out available in Settings).
